Koel (Rukmini Mallick) the tolly queen was born on April 28, 1982 in Kolkata, West Bengal to Bengali actor Ranjit Mallick and Deepa Mallick, of Kolkata's Mallick Bari of Bhowanipore.

Koel 1

Koel did her school life from Modern High School for Girls, and completed a BSc (honors) in Psychology from the Gokhale Memorial Girls' College, an affiliated college of the Calcutta University.

Koel 2

She debut in her Super Hit Film Nater Guru opposite of Jeet in 2003.In 2004, she starred in Devipaksha, Shudhu Tumi, Badshah and Bandhan.Bandhan was a huge success in Bengal and was a Blockbuster at the Box office.In 2005, Mallick appeared in Shubha Drishti, Manik, Juddhyo and Chore Chore Mastuto Bhai. She also appeared in Juddhyo opposite actors Mithun Chakraborty and Debasree Roy. The film recorded an initial collection of Rs. 1.2 crore in its first week. In 2006, she took on a more serious role in MLA Fatakeshto in which she played a reporter. She also starred in the Bengali remake of Love Story, the 2008 film Love.

Koel 3

Koel made TV debut with her talk-show Katha O Kahini.The show went on to Star Jalsha.In 2013 again Koel seen in TV as a celebrity judge in Bengali Dancing Show Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa along with renowned Bollywood choreographer Remo D'Souza on ETV Bangla.

Koel has also endorsed a variety of multi-national brands and did television commercial Ad for TVS Motor Company, Fair & Lovely, Panasonic, Vaseline etc.

Koel 4

Koel married Nispal Singh (Rane) on February 1, 2013.They had been in relationship for 7 years before then,but both of them had decided to keep their relationship away from the limelight of the glamour world of Tollywood.
